EIGER ALPINE LODGE is a modern, spacious lodge with spectacular valley views. The lodge is centrally heated, family friendly, smoke free and accommodates up to 30 guests in spacious rooms for 4, 5 or 6 guests. Eiger has a sauna, wood fire, fully equipped kitchen, full laundry and a large drying room. Eiger Lodge is situated in the Davenport Estate.
Each bedroom has an ensuite and all beds have doonas and pillows supplied. Each bedroom has one double bed and the remainder are single bunk beds. Clean up and other chores will be assigned on a roster basis.
Non-training guests will find plenty to do with bushwalking, bike trails, and other activities (see Mt Hotham’s Things to Do page).
Please note on your registration if you are interested in carpooling or joining a convoy of other people who are attending the training.
There will most likely be two convoys, one coming via Harrietville and one via Omeo. Convoy leaders have been to Eiger before and are familar with the roads and conditions.
Getting there by yourself
Head up the Hume Hwy, take the turn-off to Milawa after the BP service station. Follow signs to Milawa, Myrtleford & then through Bright to Mt Hotham. Petrol is available at Myrtleford & Bright until 5pm.
Alternately, take Monash Fwy/Princes Hwy, turn left at Bruthen (half hour past Bairnsdale). Follow Great Alpine Road through Omeo, past Dinner Plain. Turn left at Davenport Drive. If going this route, it is best to fuel up at Bairnsdale.
Electric vehicle charging
Please check Plugshare for information on electric vehicle chargers as there are not many available to the public. The Tesla supercharger at Bright is open to other vehicles that can use CCS2.
We expect that the General Store and one restaurant will be open, but cannot guarantee what else may be available on the mountain.
